Some might think we are crazy…. but I can’t bring myself to leave the baby stage behind just yet. So, meet Juniper: a itty bitty Bernedoodle puppy (poodle mix with Bernese Mountain Dog).
She came to us as a tiny 8 pound puppy, and is expected to be full grown at about 50 pounds. Her dad is a gentle giant, 110 pound Bernese Mountain Dog. Her mom is a petite standard Poodle, weighing in at 55 pounds.
I decided to have some fun with her, go back to my roots as a newborn photographer, and really capture these moments with her. They are only newborn babies (lol, puppies) for a tiny moment!
If you know anything about doodle, you already know that they have the bonus of being hypo allergenic! Keep in mind though, they inherit their hypo allergenic traits from the poodle side. With any mix, you can’t be sure before how much of that quality. The level of how good they are with allergies varies from dog to dog.
She has inherited the calm of the Bernese Mountain Dog, and spends much of her day lounging around. For a wild and raucous family with 5 kids, this is AMAZING! She also inherited the smartness of a poodle, and has already passed the first level of puppy training, and a slew of tricks.
Bernedoodles are a relatively newer poodle cross, and so the wait list for them can be pretty long. We waited 6 months for her (that’s nearly a whole pregnancy!). If you are interested in a bernedoodle puppy, I highly recommend Kandi’s Sweet Puppies.
